Assistant Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion
Dr. Shay Malone arrived at Northwest in July as assistant vice president of diversity and inclusion in the Office Diversity and Inclusion. Previously, she was director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and a diversity officer for the student affairs and academic support units at the University of South Carolina. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, she also served as assistant director of leadership development and intercultural affairs at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, and she was a program coordinator for the multicultural center and international student affairs at Webster University in St. Louis. She has an Ed.D. in higher education administration from the University of Alabama as well as a master’s degree in media communications with an emphasis in public relations and a bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in writing, both from Webster.
